Chapters 7 and 8 - Computing Flow Time Performance for Queueing Systems
Managers often analyze the flow time performance of a system to understand how customers or flow units wait in a system. We capture how a queue behaves by using Kendall's Notation, which details the distribution of the arrival rate, the distribution of the service rate, the number of servers, the maximum number of customers in the system, the population size of the customers, and the service discipline (FCFS, LCFS, PRIO). This calculator computes the service characteristics for various types of queues.
